Discover Rooi

B&B Rooi Bij de Knoptoren is, as the name suggests, near the Knoptoren, which together with its clock tower is one of the oldest sights in Sint-Oedenrode. Seen from the A50, the Knoptoren is the eye-catcher of Sint-Oedenrode (Sint-Oedenrode is also popularly called “Rooi”). Sint-Oedenrode was merged with Veghel and Schijndel into the new municipality of Meierijstad in 2017.

In 1999, Sint-Oedenrode was the greenest village in the Netherlands. In 2000 the village won the title The green heart of the Meierij, after Rooi was named the greenest village in Europe by the Entente Florale in 2000.

The Dommel flows right behind our garden or, rather, the garden of our chickens.

Quietly in the green there are various parks (such as Park Kienehoef with a petting zoo) and nature reserves (Moerkuilen, Vressels Bos with the Hazenputten, the Rooise Broek and the Scheeken). A large part of the green structure in Sint-Oedenrode (about the history of Sint-Oedenrode) belongs to the National Landscape Het Groene Woud. The area is therefore excellent for cycling and walking (and there is a Bike-SOS!).

B&B Rooi Bij de Knoptoren is about a ten minute walk from the market. In the center and around it there are quite a few terraces and restaurants (one with a Michelin star and one with a Bib Gourmand). All major supermarkets are also within walking distance. Activities and music parties are regularly organized on the market.

Another attraction is Henkenshage Castle with Henkenshage Park, which was designed in 1909 by garden and landscape architect Leonard Springer. The castle and its garden are also a popular place for weddings and parties.

The Knoptoren is a meeting place for exhibitions, concerts and weddings. On open Saturdays you can climb the clock tower and view Sint-Oedenrode and its surroundings from above in four directions.

Sint-Oedenrode has excellent public transport connections with Eindhoven (with the express bus line in 20 minutes to Eindhoven station), Den Bosch and Veghel / Uden / Oss. All these connections are within walking distance of our B&B. Eindhoven Airport is located at a distance of 15 km and is easy to do by car or taxi and even by bus.
